About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced CNC machinist and joinery expert to join our team. As a CNC machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery in a joinery factory.

Responsibilities:

• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining as necessary.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerised machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
• Sets up and operates the machine on trial run to verify the accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
• Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in CNC machining and joinery, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Auto-CAD software and other CAD/CAM systems.
• Familiarity with CNC machines, such as BIESSE Rover B4 & B3 (2D/3D) & HOMAG.
