Responsibilities
- Cooperate with the project team for constructability and feasibility studies, with APPAL for technical tabulation of civil bidders’ proposals, and with the civil department to analyze/define the work requisition to be included in the subcontractor scope of work.
- Report to the construction manager.
- Direct subcontractor activities for the own discipline, ensuring plant construction works are performed according to erection schedules and project documents, within the assigned cost budget, and according to quality & safety procedures and subcontract terms.
- Support with one or more assistants.
- Prior to the start of works, check the supplier’s material and technical documentation delivery schedule and ensure it aligns with construction schedules and contractual commitments.
- Control and approve subcontractors’ method statements prior to works, ensuring correct application on the field.
- Ensure implementation of all HSE procedures and standards for the areas or activities of subcontractors.
- Participate directly in HSE activities at site as defined in the site HSE plan and related procedures.
- Monitor schedules and promote actions to recover any delays.
- Verify that equipment and manpower employed by subcontractors are adequate and that works conform to design documents, safety regulations, and the required quality level.
- Perform inspections and sign necessary certificates as per site inspection plans.
- Prepare the non‑conformity register for each subcontractor and coordinate resolution.
- Detect and rectify design errors where possible, or request site engineer changes.
- Check subcontractors’ work progress status sheets and sign for approval.
- Manage vendor specialists.
- Assist contract manager/engineer in defining new prices, preparing amendments to subcontracts, and analyzing/discussing claims.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering courses.
- Minimum 10 years of work experience.
- Significant experience in a similar position on EPC Oil & Gas projects or refinery.
