Job Purpose

The Chief Officer - Media Talent Development is responsible for supporting the Section Head by executing and implementing the roadmap for DPC’s Talent Programs. He/she is responsible for implementing programs such as internships, rotation programs and mentorship programs, working with universities, colleges, senior members across GDMO, and other media entities to fulfil this. The chief officer is responsible for the day‑to‑day implementation of the programs. The role holder is expected to demonstrate strong teamwork skills and carry out his/her duties in accordance with the relevant business policies and procedures.

Job Description

Key Focus Area

General Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Directors, Managers and other employees across GDMO, to support them through the implementation of internship, rotation and mentorship programs for talent.

Provide metrics and supporting documents to the Section Head, to support with the monthly KPI reports.

Talent Programs Strategy

Identify opportunities to nurture and integrate talent within the media industry through collaborations with universities and colleges, and share these with the Section Head for consideration within the strategy and roadmap development for Talent Programs.

Support the Section Head by identifying potential university and college partnerships to collaborate with in order to provide young talent opportunities for internships, rotation programs and mentorship within the media industry.

Talent Programs Relationship Development

  • Maintain relationships with universities through day‑to‑day collaborations on training, internships, rotation programs and mentorship for young talent.
  • Maintain relationships with other government entities through day‑to‑day collaborations on opportunities for internships, rotation programs and mentorship for young talent.

Program Development and Implementation

  • Develop programs with the Section Head in collaboration with the selected universities.
  • Work with the Section Head to implement a rotation program for talent, working with other media entities to provide talent a comprehensive experience through the industry.
  • Work with the Section Head to implement internship opportunities for talent within GDMO.
  • Work with the Section Head to implement mentorship opportunities for talent with Directors and Managers across GDMO.
  • Work with the Section Head to source and select young talent for the programs, working with universities and colleges to communicate program opportunities with talent so as to attract applications and interest within them.

Periodically collect feedback from all involved parties, including individuals selected for programs, mentors, Directors, Managers, universities, colleges etc to support the Section Head with the development of programs.

Qualifications

Experience Required

Functional Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Leadership/Supervisory

  • A minimum of 3 years working in a team.

Education And Qualification Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Growth in the number of individuals within the talent programs (%)
  • Development of the internship program (%)
  • Development of the mentorship program (%)
  • Development of the rotation program (%)

Satisfaction score from individuals within the talent program (%).
