Dean of Students - ASAP Start | Dean of Students in Ras Al Khaimah

My client is a leading IB and USA Common Core School. I am seeking a qualified and experienced female Dean of Students to join the school and help progress it further. The school serves over 1,200 students from Kindergarten to High School, adopting both the USA curriculum fused with the IB framework. The school is seeking a Whole School Dean of Students to join the team.

The ideal candidate should have the following:

• Min of 3 years experience as a teacher
• Experience of being a Dean of Students before
• Strong organisational skills and ability to keep detailed records
• Successful management and supervisory skill training and experience
• Foster constructive adolescent behaviour in support of well being and academic achievement
• Interact supportively with knowledge of adolescent behaviour issues and psychology
• Act in line with knowledge of and concern for issues facing our local student and parent community

Responsibilities

• Oversee faculty coverage and faculty absence requests
• Lead and coordinate clubs and activity program
• Stay up to date on best practices at leading international schools regarding student wellbeing
• Oversee student discipline, PowerSchool grades, grade books and attendance, intervening when necessary
• Facilitate Parent / Student / Teacher / Advisor / Counselor / Admin communication and meetings regarding student academics, conduct, attendance and wellbeing
• Document interactions regarding student academics, conduct and attendance, including parent meetings
• Lead faculty supervision of campus
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal

Application Requirements

Minimum Qualification Qualification: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

• Experience: 2 Years
• Type of Staff: Only Female can apply to this job
• Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
• Must be a native speaker of English
• Prefer candidates with international experience
• Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted
• Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
• Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted
