Position

Global Support Engineer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

• Join Advantest’s Global Support Expert team for the V93000 SoC Test System. Provide 3rd level technical support to end customers (focus on hardware).
• Be the highest point of escalation with a close relationship to the end customer and Field Engineers.
• Contribute to design for support by driving new product designs toward supportability and profitability.
• As a Global Support Engineer, provide support for customers of our products and manage the delivery of technical solutions to address their needs.
• Utilize diverse skills from tactical execution to project management to resolve customer issues in a timely manner.
• Act as the global technical support expert for Advantest Semiconductor Test Systems.
• Be accountable for global technical escalation management.
• Define Service and End User documentation and training for all New Product Introductions.
• Understand customer requirements and translate technical details into clear, actionable insights.
• Review and analyze customer health trends to proactively identify and resolve issues before escalation.
• Define and measure support requirements for new Advantest product development ensuring supportability at lowest cost.
• Conduct training to propagate knowledge to all regional service organizations worldwide.
• Ensure installed base product quality, reliability and compatibility.
• Drive continuous improvement globally to enhance the capability or efficiency of delivering support to end customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
• Ideally experience as R&D, Production or Support Engineer within an international environment managing cross-functional projects.
• Familiarity with electronic test equipment and understanding and troubleshooting hardware.
• Experience with optical measurement instruments (Plus).
• Proficiency with Linux environments and with languages such as bash, Java or Python for scripting and automation (Plus).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support cross-geographical projects and customer engagements.
• Soft skills: proactive problem-solver with a customer-centric approach, excellent communicator, ability to work collaboratively across global teams, strong English (German preferred, Chinese or Japanese a plus), process-oriented, structured and analytical, can-do attitude, customer-focused.
