We are currently seeking a forward-thinking and technically skilled Mechanical Integration Engineer to join our dynamic R&D department .

As a Mechanical Integration Engineer for ePowertrain Systems, you will play a critical role in designing and integrating advanced ePowertrain solutions for Yanmar's new line of electric off-highway machines. You will help Yanmar create state-of-the-art ePowertrain for off-highway machines while ensuring the seamless integration of components for optimal performance and reliability. You will collaborate with a global team, including experts from Japan and the Netherlands, to drive innovation and excellence in our electrification initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Yanmar's products lead the market in efficiency and sustainability, setting new industry standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform design activities such as concept ePowertrain integration from components including mechanical, electrical, and thermal aspects.
  2. Design concepts within vehicle space constraints for safety and operation of powertrain elements, including mechanical structural design.
  3. Integrate subcomponents such as cables, motors, cooling/heating systems, EDU, inverter, OBC, DC-DC converters, etc.
  4. Design thermal systems for ePowertrain thermal management.
  5. Evaluate design for manufacturability and assembly in close collaboration with manufacturing teams.
  6. Design HV bus bars and wiring harnesses.
  7. Manage the Bill of Materials and handle all change requests.
  8. Create drawings based on parametric CAD models following ANSI and ISO standards.
  9. Manage design iterations in close collaboration with all teams.

Requirements & Qualifications

  1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a strong mechanical background.
  2. Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in HV design, preferably in automotive/truck electrification.
  3. Strong CAD skills such as CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, etc.
  4. Experience developing products from concept to production.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Japanese or German is a plus.
  6. Ability to guide and manage expectations from cross-functional teams.
