Job Title: Principal Scientist, Quantum Dynamics & Simulation

Job Type: Full-time

Location: On-site, Berlin, Berlin, Germany

Job Summary:

Join our team at MosaeQ, a pioneering deep-tech company engineering a new class of quantum computer beyond the limits of today’s hardware. As Principal Scientist, Quantum Dynamics & Simulation, you will serve as the intellectual heart of our R&D team, developing foundational theoretical models that fuse our patented computational algorithms with the physics of our revolutionary quantum technology. This is a rare opportunity to define the scientific operating system for a groundbreaking quantum platform set to transform predictive biology and materials science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine Hamiltonian models for interacting quantum particles in pristine two-dimensional systems.
  • Simulate and analyze decoherence mechanisms inherent to ultra-low temperature and low-disorder quantum environments.
  • Design and validate novel quantum gate sequences for high-fidelity qubit control and measurement.
  • Collaborate with quantum engineering teams to transform theoretical concepts into experimental parameters.
  • Interpret complex experimental data to iteratively enhance and validate computational models.
  • Publish and present research in leading scientific journals and at international conferences, representing MosaeQ’s scientific vision.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Physics (Condensed Matter, Quantum Mechanics, or related fields) with demonstrated scholarship in two-dimensional electron systems (2DES).
  • Expertise in condensed matter theory, many-body physics, quantum Hall effect, and computational physics.
  • Hands-on experience with cryogenic systems and ultra-low temperature experiments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python for scientific computation and simulation.
  • Strong understanding of quantum transport and quantum dots on novel substrates.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, fostering clear technical exchanges across disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Published research on scattering mechanisms in low-disorder 2D systems, Wigner crystallization, or circuit quantum electrodynamics (cQED) for hybrid platforms.
  • Direct experience modeling decoherence and designing experiments at millikelvin temperatures.
  • Proven ability to translate theory into experimental design within quantum technology startups or leading research environments.

MosaeQ offers a dynamic environment where you will shape a new computational paradigm alongside world-class colleagues, supported by international partnerships and a shared mission to redefine what quantum computing can achieve.
