NeoLyte’s technology addresses critical challenges across nuclear waste analysis, contraband detection, infrastructure inspection, and medical isotope production. We bring together a cross‑disciplinary team of laser and plasma physicists, engineers, and AI experts. We are building our first pilot facility in Biblis (Germany), with the goal to reach market readiness and commercial deployment quite soon. What you’ll do

  • Design and simulate neutron and X‑ray imaging systems using Monte Carlo methods, building digital twins from radiation production to detection.
  • Optimize signal‑to‑noise ratios by refining detector configurations and converter materials for high‑quality imaging performance.
  • Enhance neutron yield by modeling and improving target‑converter interactions with laser‑driven ion sources.
  • Simulate neutron and X‑ray transport through various materials to support material‑specific attenuation studies and reconstruction algorithms.
  • Collaborate with physicists, engineers, and software developers to co‑develop imaging reconstruction methods based on simulation insights.
  • Conduct radiation safety simulations and contribute to shielding design and safe operating procedures.

Who you are

  • At least 4 years of hands‑on experience with Monte Carlo simulation tools such as MCNP, GEANT4, PHITS, or FLUKA.
  • A solid understanding of neutron physics and interaction mechanisms, ideally with exposure to neutron imaging applications.
  • Experience working with large simulation datasets and developing efficient evaluation workflows.
  • Strong coding skills in Python, C++, or a comparable language used in scientific computing.
  • Proficiency in English; Germany‑based, ability to travel to Darmstadt (Hessia) on a regular basis.
