We are looking for a flexible and skilled Tower Crane Operator to join our team on our project in Walsum (Germany) .
In this role, you will ensure safety and compliance with Sarens’ SHEQ standards, promote continuous improvement, and manage daily crane operations. Your responsibilities will include site visits, document checks, crane assembly, and maintenance. With at least 10 years of experience operating heavy tower lattice boom cranes and relevant certifications, you will be crucial in maintaining operational excellence. Responsibilities:
- Ensure everyone works safely and follows Sarens’ SHEQ standards.
- Ensure all activities comply with Sarens’ SHEQ standards, policies, instructions, and local laws.
- Check all necessary documents (planning instructions, certificates, lifting plans, load charts) before starting work.
- Check local weather conditions beforehand.
- Assemble, configure, and disassemble a crane.
- Operate and control the crane independently, following manufacturing instructions.
- Keep a crane clean, neat, and in good operational condition, including refueling as needed.
- Inspect the crane and equipment for damage before, during, and after operations.
- Perform daily, first-line, and preventive maintenance.
- Report any damage and irregularities.
- Provide feedback to the line or functional Manager on work and potential extra work.
- Follow Sarens’ standards, company, and client policies and instructions in all tasks and training.
Profile
- At least 10 years of experience as an operator of 40+t capacity tower cranes (Brands: Wollf, Wilbert, Liebherr).
- Experience operating tower cranes with a lattice boom.
- Certifications: a certificate for securing critical loads (IS-006) and/or a safety certificate (VCA). Additional certificates (forklift, telehandler, aerial platform) are a plus.
- Hoisting / safety certificate is mandatory. A driver’s License C or CE is strongly recommended.
- Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
- Knowledge of mechanics and electronics.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Excellent communication and situational awareness skills.
- Capability to work at heights.
- Strong teamwork skills.
