We are looking for an engineer to support external connectivity for Airbus aircraft. The successful candidate will work on cutting‑edge connectivity systems, from advanced satellite links to innovative antenna technologies, to bring unprecedented connectivity to commercial aircraft cabins.
Location
You will be working at the largest civil aircraft production site in Hamburg, located on the southern bank of the River Elbe with easy ferry access.

Your Mission
You will be part of the Cabin & Cargo engineering team, contributing to strategic connectivity projects that enhance the future of connectivity and in‑flight experiences for Airbus aircraft programs. You will work across multi‑competence teams, take responsibility for your commitments, and ensure proper communication and transparency with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- System development and aircraft system integration (thermal, mechanical, electrical)
- Hardware definition and qualification according to DO‑160 or ABD0100
- System verification and validation
- Architecture definition of platforms, communication systems, and backbones enabling new functionalities and services requested by Airbus aircraft programs and airline customers
- Creation of system and hardware documentation (specifications, system descriptions, V&V plans) according to the Airbus development process
- Coordination of system integration aspects with involved departments (Electrical & Mechanical System Integration, Manufacturing Engineering, Final Assembly Line)
- Definition and evaluation of lab and flight test activities for satellite communications systems
- Definition of functional system and equipment specifications for suppliers using model‑based system engineering or requirement‑based methodology
- Collaboration with the multi‑competence team, ensuring transparency, communication and adaptability to project needs
Required Skills
- Master's/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Systems Engineering with relevant professional experience
- System engineering expertise and advanced understanding of development and industrial processes
- Demonstrated experience with validation and verification methodologies for systems and equipment
- Self‑organized with strong moderating and negotiating skills to develop innovative solutions with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive attitude
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, fostering collaboration within the team and with stakeholders
- Negotiation‑level English skills
- Flexibility and agility
- Willingness to work in an international environment
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge in radio frequency technology/telecommunications or network/connectivity
- Project management skills
