Position
Full Professor (W3) – History of Education
Responsibilities
- Represent the field comprehensively in teaching and research; contribute to its further development through theoretical and empirical approaches.
- Focus on historical perspectives on educational, upbringing, and socialization processes and analyze their embedding in social transformation dynamics in a theory-driven manner.
- Contribute to the university’s research profiles “Knowledge Cultures and Education” and/or “Transformation”.
- Collaborate with the Center for School and Educational Research (ZSB) and/or the Interdisciplinary Centre for European Enlightenment Studies (IZEA); participate in MLU’s internationalisation strategy.
- Demonstrate experience in securing third-party funding and in interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Hold an above-average relevant doctoral degree and demonstrate additional academic achievements in the relevant field (e.g., habilitation or equivalent qualification).
- Teach in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in Educational Science; be able to teach in German.
- Participate in academic self-governance and committee work.
- Fulfil further duties as stipulated in section 34 of the Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities.
Qualifications
- Preconditions of appointment as stipulated in section 35 of the Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities; emphasis on habilitation in the relevant field or an equivalent level of scientific achievement and recognition; appropriate experience or qualification in teaching.
- Willingness to undertake interdisciplinary collaboration and to contribute to university governance.
