Junior Application Scientist – Biosensing

Location: Málaga, Spain | Type: Full-time, in place.

Bioherent is on a mission to develop next-generation photonic biosensors for a wide range of clinical applications, aiming to streamline and accelerate diagnostic processes in hospitals and healthcare settings. Founded in 2021 as a deep-tech spin-off from the University of Málaga, our technology builds on decades of research in photonics, chemistry, and clinical sciences.

We are rapidly advancing to tackle critical unmet needs in clinical diagnostics. Joining Bioherent at this exciting stage means applying your advanced technical skills to improve human health while growing professionally in a fast-moving, multidisciplinary team of highly qualified experts. Must-have qualifications:

• PhD in Biophysics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, or a related field.
• Practical experience with biomolecular interaction analysis.
• Experience in surface functionalization and molecular immobilization strategies.
• Proven experience with biosensors and/or sensing platforms.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation such as SPR, HPLC, AFM, or related analytical methods.
• Knowledge of immunoassays and molecular sensing techniques.
