Role purpose

Build the Python services that power Agrointel’s irrigation scheduling digital twins and deliver a QGIS plugin for field configuration.  Then, contribute increasingly to our Nuxt/Vue cloud platform as it scales.


What you'll do

  • Data Integration: Develop services that collect and standardize environmental and operational data from multiple external sources to support precision agriculture decisions.
  • Modelling & Analytics: Build and maintain Python-based components that process farm and climate data to generate predictive irrigation insights and scheduling recommendations.
  • GIS Tools: Extend geospatial tools to help internal agronomy and operations teams visualize, configure, and manage farm-level irrigation parameters.
  • Web Platform Integration: Collaborate with front-end and full-stack engineers to connect back-end services with user-facing dashboards and contribute to shared UI components.
  • Engineering Excellence: Apply sound software engineering practices including testing, asynchronous programming, API design, and data modeling to ensure code reliability and clarity.
  • Operational Reliability: Implement monitoring, logging, and performance improvements to deliver maintainable, resilient systems that scale with our growing data footprint.


Must-haves

  • Python (3–5 yrs) in production services; FastAPI, asyncio, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy , SQLModel, REST.
  • JavaScript/TypeScript (2–3 yrs) with a reactive framework (Vue/React/Angular); solid HTML/CSS; Tailwind.
  • Test-Driven-Development with pytest; practical Git/CI habits; ability to work independently.
  • Fluent English ; ability to own research‑to‑production work.
  • Seville‑based (we require relocation to Seville; we can offer tailored support).


Nice-to-haves

  • QGIS plugin development; geospatial data handling.
  • Supabase/Postgres (RLS policies, functions, triggers) and data‑viz experience.
  • Observability, performance tuning, or cloud experience.
  • Proven experience working independently .


Soft skills

  • Team working (you'll be working in a small, specialised team).
  • High pressure scenarios (your team will deliver mission-critical, client-facing technology, under very tight deadlines).
  • Work independently (you'll be the owner of your work, and will have the opportunity to design a codebase starting from scratch).
