Overview

France HR Lead (Based in Brest)

We are currently working with a successful world-leading shipbuilding and engineering group which operates in 120 countries and employs over 12,000 people to hire a France HR Lead based in Brest, Brittany.

As a family company, our client offers maritime solutions to connect the world through design, shipbuilding, ship repair and related services while maintaining a passion for combining their heritage with innovation to become the world’s most sustainable shipbuilder.

This key position holds leadership responsibilities to oversee overall HR strategy and operations in their shipyard’s facilities in Brest & Dunkirk, while managing and supervising HR teams across both locations. The individual will work very closely with both GMs in Brest and Dunkirk and will have a functional report to the Human Resource Director base in the Netherlands.

As a part of Global HR team, the position will also be a member of a larger HR community across Europe and globally in sharing HR strategic initiatives and best practices across various HR topics for continuous improvements within the group.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall HR strategy and operations in Brest and Dunkirk shipyard facilities.
• Manage and supervise HR teams across both locations.
• Collaborate closely with the General Managers in Brest and Dunkirk.
• Report to the Human Resources Director (based in the Netherlands).
• Be a member of the Global HR team and contribute to cross-region HR initiatives and best practices.

Qualifications

• A degree in human resources, organization development, business, or a related discipline
• 10 years of HR experience in construction, engineering, production, or a related manufacturing industry
• Thorough knowledge and proven practice of French Labor Code / Laws and negotiating with staff / union / Work Council representatives
• Professional proficiency in French AND English (written & verbal)
