Job Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Electrical Designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks in the Engineering Department. The position is based in Pistoia - IT
Accountabilities
- Development of functional schemes (vehicle and subassemblies)
- Development of wiring diagrams (vehicle and subassemblies)
- Development of electrical documentation for production (topographic diagrams wiring tables harness drawings etc.)
- Design of electrical subassemblies (electrical cubicle in the compartment electrical boxes outside the car etc.)
- Definition of electro / mechanical components and electrical components for wiring
- Preparation of system requirements specification and component technical specification
- Preparation of the electrical requirements specifications of the vehicle
- Support during the on-board integration test for electrical functions
- Design review with Clients and Suppliers
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Professional level diploma
- Experience in the railway industry with the role of Systems Electrical Engineer and / or Designer focused on Electrical systems.
- Recommended knowledge of the main regulations relating to electrical systems in the railway business for design and testing.
- Recommended knowledge of the main office automation software / tools (Word Excel Access etc.)
- Recommended knowledge of mechanical design software (Autocad Creo Catia etc.) and the IBM DOORS requirements management tool.
- Recommended knowledge of electrical design software (E3 in particular).
- Recommended knowledge of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization with the attitude to contribute with constructive and practical ideas.
- Readiness to work effectively in a collaborative fast-paced multitasking international environment.
- Ability to work autonomously in teams and for projects is required.
- Availability for short-term national and international business trip.
Desired Skills / Knowledge
- Good knowledge of electrical schematics / topics
- Ability to manage and plan the assigned tasks independently and team-working.
- Ability to analyze business requirements problem-solving attitude and business process analysis.
- Ability to face the different internal functions (internal customer) and external (suppliers customers partners).
- Versatile in learning and strong desire to remain up to date with changes in technology and best industry practices.
- Strong business acumen & technical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attitude to work in an international and multi-cultural reality.
Education / Qualifications
Professional level diploma (in electrical field)
Languages
Good knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory. English language knowledge on at least international C1 level
