AWS Global Services includes experts from across AWS who help our customers design, build, operate, and secure their cloud environments. You’ll join a diverse team of technical experts who help customers achieve more with the AWS cloud. The AWS Industry (AWSI) Professional Services APJ (Japan) team works with global enterprise customers to achieve business outcomes securely and faster in the cloud, delivering project-based support for modernization, migration, and development initiatives.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for hands-on technical architects to accelerate our growing business. This role blends modernization and native development expertise with cross-industry business acumen, customer obsession, and a passion for continuous learning and growth.

This role sits within Professional Services, which engages in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners across technologies and industries. The Modernization Practice collaborates with product and service teams to deliver solutions, drive feature innovation, and help customers migrate or redevelop workloads in the cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Leading complex projects with autonomy and discretion, often involving multiple Amazon, customer, and partner teams.
• Working with customers and partners to plan, prioritize, and deliver complex transformation and migration initiatives, collaborating with Sales, Service, and Support teams.
• Designing and delivering solutions that address new levels of complexity, scale, and performance to enable breakthrough innovations.
• Creating and applying frameworks, methods, best practices, and artifacts that deliver prescriptive guidance to customers, and presenting them in large forums and across media platforms.
• Guiding customers’ technical architecture and investments to maximize alignment with the platform and ease of adoption as new services and products become available.

Ideal candidate

• Experience helping customers architect scalable, highly available solutions leveraging AWS services.
• Experience architecting and developing customer applications for optimization and modernization.
• Ability to act as a technical leader alongside customer business, development, and delivery teams.
• Deep software development knowledge, including design patterns and programming practices.
• Advising and implementing best practices; implementing practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous and automated deployment leveraging Generative AI.
