Role Overview

Based in Coventry, this is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to lead a team in delivering compliant and efficient utility designs. You’ll be responsible for managing the full design lifecycle, ensuring technical standards are met, and issuing construction packs post-acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

·Lead and manage a design team to produce fit-for-purpose designs.

·Liaise with clients, incumbents, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

·Monitor team performance against productivity standards and drive continuous improvement.

·Identify and address design-related cost and programme impacts.

·Support the Design Manager in team development and motivation.

·Ensure adoption standards and technical compliance are met.

·Assess training and development needs within the team.

Qualifications & Experience

·Degree in Engineering (essential).

·Strong knowledge of current legislation, technical standards, codes of practice, and engineering recommendations.

·Excellent verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

·Master’s degree, CEng or IEng.

·Multi-utility design experience.

·BMT experience.

·Full UK driving licence required.
