The Role:

Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience overseeing large-scale civil and surveying projects, typically valued at around £10 million or more?

The role involves managing complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are executed in accordance with company procedures, contractual obligations, budgets, and schedules.

You will need to bring extensive quantity surveying expertise, business acumen, and the ability to manage multiple contracts effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include managing civil and surveying projects independently, overseeing project costs from initial estimates to final figures, and ensuring projects stay within scope, budget, and schedule.

You will be tasked with identifying potential financial and construction risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.

Effective communication with clients, contractors, and stakeholders is essential to facilitate smooth project execution. You will also be expected to uphold professional standards as a member of the relevant chartered institutes and ensure safety standards are maintained through IOSH certification. Your role will demand strong commercial awareness, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.

Qualifications and Experience:

You will need to have proven experience managing large-scale construction or engineering projects valued at £10 million or more. You must demonstrate excellent organisational, multitasking, and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with our clients, contractors, and project teams.

Recognised professional memberships such as RICS, CIOB, or ICES are required, along with an IOSH certification. Your expertise should include accurately finalising measurements, produce reliable financial estimates, and manage project costs effectively. A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a quantity surveying role within large projects is essential, along with a strong commercial mindset and commitment to safety and quality standards.
