Senior Buyer/ Procurement – Renewable Energy Projects – Civil Engineering

Location: Hybrid – London HQ (with Remote Flexibility)

Remuneration: Β£60-Β£70,000 + bonus, + package or Β£450 per day (outside of IR35)

Duration: Permanent role of 6-month initial contract - 2 year programme of work


Are you an experienced Civil Engineering Senior Buyer with good sub-contractor procurement expertise, looking for your next challenge? Infraspec is working with a leading renewable energy business to find someone to help there ever-growing portfolio of work


We require an experienced and proactive Senior Buyer to join a procurement team who work on renewable projects such and battery storage and flexible electric generation schemes. You will be responsible for sourcing and managing the supply chain for a wide range of civil engineering and M&E areas. The key requirement in delivering this role will be through sub-contractor procurement, expertise in this area is critical.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Management of the buying processes from procurement scheduling activities, scoping and tendering packages, evaluation, and negotiation.
  • Develop targeted ITTs, RFPs, RFQs that enable clear evaluation and supplier/contractor selection.
  • Track and monitor price performance against budgets, highlighting potential issues early.
  • Providing a comprehensive procurement service for all projects in the regional operating units.
  • Ensure contract arrangements and package details are comprehensive and protect the business in its dealings with suppliers and contractors.


Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement within civil engineering, construction, energy, or M&E sectors.
  • Expertise in subcontractor procurement from the outset.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.


Desirable:

  • CIPS qualification or working towards it.
  • Experience with utility-scale energy projects.
