🚀 Contract Business Analyst (Freight)

Day rate: Circa £800/d (inside IR35)

Location: London (hybrid - 3 days per week)

Contract: 6 months initial (multi-year scope)

X4 Technology are partnered with a global energy trading client, offering the opportunity for a Contract Senior Business Analyst to drive digital transformation across their freight operations.

As Senior BA, you’ll play a pivotal role in bridging business and technology — bringing deep freight domain expertise to design and enhance digital freight platforms that manage exposure, vessel schedules and the full deal lifecycle.

Responsibilities of the Contract Business Analyst (Freight)

• Lead business analysis for vessel operations, port activities, demurrage, voyage claims and freight settlement
• Design and support digital freight platforms that manage freight exposure, vessel schedules and deal lifecycle processes
• Lead integration with ETRM/CTRM platforms, ensuring alignment with trading and risk management goals
• Collaborate with Freight, SAP, Tax and related teams to gather, analyze, and define business requirements
• Support compliance initiatives around EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, etc

Requirements for the Contract Business Analyst (Freight)

• Proven experience operating at a Senior Business Analyst level
• Strong background in both freight operations and trading environments
• Hands-on experience with Veson IMOS strongly prefered
• Demonstrable agile project management experience
