About nkoda

nkoda works with over 140 leading music publishers to bring their sheet music catalogues into one digital library. With more than 140,000 editions now available – and that number growing every month – nkoda has become an essential library resource for academic and performance institutions worldwide. We are now seeking new Sales Representatives to help grow our institutional customer base.

About the Role

As a Sales Representative at nkoda, you will be responsible for generating and nurturing leads within academic and performance institutions – from identifying potential customers through to closing deals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating leads within academic and performance institutions worldwide, including universities, conservatoires, specialist music and independent schools, orchestras, ensembles, opera houses, theatres, and broadcasting companies.
  • Conducting sales meetings, product demonstrations, and all other activities required to set up institutional trials, both online and in person.
  • Travelling regularly to visit potential customers in person.
  • Working closely with our Trial Manager to ensure all potential customers have a positive trial experience (most institutions undertake a one month trial before subscribing, which is typically the key factor in their decision).
  • Guiding potential customers from the conclusion of their trial through to closing the sale.
  • Maintaining proactive, timely, and clear communication with all potential customers throughout the sales process.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English. Proficiency in other modern languages, while not essential, is highly advantageous.
  • Professional training or work experience in classical music (e.g. studied at a university or conservatoire, or experience in music publishing, performance, or a related field), or an in-depth understanding of classical music. This is essential, as most prospects will be musicians or music professionals, and so the ability to speak about music confidently is crucial.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple relationships simultaneously.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, especially within the European Union and the United States.
  • Previous experience selling digital library products or other resources to academic institutions would be beneficial, as would general sales experience.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, particularly HubSpot, would be an advantage.

Details

  • Base Salary: £27,000 per annum, plus commission on each deal closed.
  • Contract: full-time, permanent.
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:30.
