Sea Trials Engineer - 6-12 month Contract (Inside IR35) - Glasgow

At Navis Consulting, we are seeking a Sea Trials Engineer to support our client’s cutting-edge defence shipbuilding programmes. This is your chance to be part of a high-impact team delivering excellence in naval engineering and operations.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee the planning and execution of sea trials for defence vessels;
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and logistics teams to ensure readiness of equipment and personnel;
• Monitor sea trial activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards;
• Analyse trial outcomes and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for improvements;
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal stakeholders and client representatives;
• Support engineering assessments and provide technical input during trials;

Qualifications:

• Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) certification
• HNC/HND or equivalent in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Naval Architecture
• Additional naval or defence-related qualifications are advantageous.

Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and be able to obtain BPSS clearance.
