This is a hands-on and varied role that would suit someone with solid transactional finance experience, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative approach. You’ll take ownership of daily accounting duties while supporting the Finance Manager with wider reporting, reconciliations, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records

  • Issue monthly invoices and record all income accurately across internal systems
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain the fixed asset register
  • Issue monthly debtor statements and support with credit control as needed
  • Respond to supplier and internal queries promptly and professionally
  • Assist with month-end journals, reconciliations, and reporting for review by the Finance Manager
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure donations, grants, and other income are accurately recorded and allocated
  • Maintain financial tracker sheets and ensure data integrity across reports
  • Support with audit preparation, year-end close, and ad-hoc finance projects
  • Provide cover for the Finance Manager and assist senior leaders when required

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting support role
  • Strong understanding of transactional finance, reconciliations, and accounting processes
  • Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Confident communicator able to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams
  • Proactive team player with a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector desirable but not essential
  • Available to start at short notice

Why Join?

This is a great opportunity to join a meaningful organisation that makes a real difference in the community. You’ll gain exposure to all areas of finance, work within a supportive and purpose-driven team, and have the chance to contribute to ongoing improvements and development within the function.
