MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Location: Swindon, Wiltshire

Contract duration: 5 Month contract (Outside IR35) – Renewable

Start Date: ASAP

Project: Defence

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in power systems and military-grade equipment. The role involves producing detailed drawings, supporting mechanical design efforts, and supporting prototype builds and testing phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce drawings for equipment such as generators and distribution systems.
• Support and contribute to the mechanical design of systems and support structures.
• Provide engineering support during prototype, testing, and qualification phases.
• Conduct design reviews and manage configuration in collaboration with engineering teams.

Requirements:

• Over 5 years’ experience in design engineering, particularly with generators and distribution equipment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS.
• Familiarity with MOD and Defence Standards.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes for military-grade equipment.
• Must hold or be eligible for BPSS clearance.
