A highly regarded Legal 500 firm in South Manchester is seeking a seasoned Residential Conveyancing solicitor to lead and manage its established and high-performing conveyancing department. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management of the Residential Conveyancing department, ensuring high service levels and compliance across all files.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of conveyancers, assistants, and support staff.
• Manage a personal caseload of residential property matters, including freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, transfers of equity, remortgages, new builds, and unregistered titles.
• Contribute to operational strategy, including process improvement, team structure, and business planning.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, referrers, agents, and mortgage brokers.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards (e.g. CQS, SRA).
• Report to the firm’s senior management team and play a key role in departmental budgeting and performance monitoring.

About You

• A qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Legal Executive with 7+ years’ experience in residential property law.
• Proven leadership experience or clear potential to step into a Head of Department role.
• Strong technical knowledge across all areas of residential conveyancing.
• Confident managing people and fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.
• Detail-focused, highly organised, and adept at working in a high-volume environment while maintaining client care standards.
• Commercially aware, with a proactive approach to business development and process efficiency.
• Able to work full-time from the firm’s South Manchester office.
