🚀 Senior Control Engineer

Senior EC&I Engineer – Sheffield | SCX

We are a UK-based engineering innovator delivering complex mechanical handling and kinetic architecture systems across Defence, Aerospace, Nuclear, Sports & Entertainment, and Infrastructure sectors.

We’re looking for a Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to lead the design and delivery of high-integrity control systems for technically demanding projects. You’ll act as a technical authority, shaping system architectures, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

What you’ll do:

• Lead EC&I design from concept to commissioning
• Define control architectures and specify equipment
• Oversee PLC/HMI integration (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider)
• Produce and approve detailed engineering documentation
• Collaborate across disciplines and manage suppliers
• Support installation, testing, and client engagement
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to bids

What you’ll bring:

• Degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering
• Strong EC&I experience in complex or regulated environments
• Proficiency in CAD tools (EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical)
• Familiarity with BS EN 60204, BS 7671, and related standards
• Full UK driving licence (travel required)

Nice to have:

• Chartered Engineer status (or working toward it)
• Experience in Nuclear, Defence, or Aerospace
• Knowledge of Functional Safety standards
