🚀 Design Engineer

The Company and the Role

My client is looking for a Design Engineer to join their design office. This role involves the design, development, and ongoing technical support of the company’s products, in line with the quality standards set by the business. You will also be assigned additional tasks as requested by management to support the company’s broader development strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering assemblies incorporating mechanical and electrical systems

• Support new product development projects as directed by management

• Provide technical assistance to both production and sales teams

• Liaise with suppliers on technical specifications and component details

• Create, manage, and update technical assembly and manufacturing drawings

• Contribute to design and development decision-making processes

• Assist with the construction and testing of prototypes from concept through to pre-production

• Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOMS)

Experience and Skills

Formal engineering qualification (degree or equivalent experience preferred)

Proven experience in a design engineering role within a technical or manufacturing environment

Proficient in 3D CAD design and technical drawing production

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes

Experience working with a range of materials such as metals and plastics
