Location: North London

Salary: Competitive (dependant on experience)

A well-established children’s home is seeking a Deputy Manager to join its dedicated team supporting children and young people aged 6–18 with complex needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavioural or emotional needs.

This is a specialist residential and short-break service committed to providing high-quality care in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. The home has been rated Outstanding for leadership and management and places a strong emphasis on developing every child’s potential.

The Role:

You’ll support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the delivery of high standards of care in line with regulatory requirements and the service’s ethos. You’ll lead, motivate, and develop a committed staff team, contributing to supervision, training, and ensuring individualised care plans are implemented effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager in ensuring compliance with Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations.
  • Leading, supervising, and developing care staff.
  • Overseeing care planning and key working for children and young people.
  • Promoting a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
  • Ensuring all care is delivered in line with individual needs and family expectations.
  • Supporting positive behaviour management and safeguarding practice.

About You:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential); working towards or willing to complete Level 5.
  • Significant experience in residential childcare, ideally with children with disabilities or complex needs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • A compassionate, person-centred approach with a commitment to promoting inclusion, dignity, and respect.
  • Confident in managing teams, developing staff, and working collaboratively with families and professionals.
