Our high-profile client in the West Midlands is looking for a strategic thinker to join their team and help drive success across key categories. If you thrive on managing a product range end-to-end, negotiating with suppliers globally, and shaping commercial strategy, this is your chance! The Role & You Working closely with the Senior Buyer, you'll be instrumental in maximising the success of your assigned FMCG categories. This role is perfect for a proactive, financially astute individual ready to take ownership and deliver fantastic value and newness for customers. Key Focus Areas: Category Ownership: Take accountability for developing, negotiating, and managing a specified product range, delivering set KPIs. Strategic Sourcing: Identify and develop new range opportunities. You'll visit suppliers and their factories to negotiate costs, draft contracts, and explore new sourcing requirements. Insight & Strategy: Utilise customer insights and market data to identify trends and shape category strategies, including detailed research and analysis (e.g., cost benchmarking) to identify saving opportunities. Collaboration & Leadership: Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, work cross-functionally across the business, and provide coaching to junior team members.
