🚀 CAMHS Consultant

We are seeking a committed and experienced Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist to join the Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health (EWMH) Care Group in the Cardiff region. This role offers a diverse mix of clinical, teaching, research, and leadership responsibilities within a supportive and forward-thinking environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver psychiatric assessments, interventions, and pharmacological treatments. Provide input across the Crisis Pathway (Crisis Team, IHTT, CITT). Participate in the Regional Out of Hours Psychiatry Rota (currently 1 in 15). Offer emergency psychiatric support to the Eating Disorder Team (Mondays and Thursdays). Collaborate with Paediatric, Adult Mental Health, and Medical colleagues. Supervise and mentor junior medical staff. Engage in clinical audit and contribute to service development. Teaching & Education: Teach medical students and multidisciplinary staff. Participate in postgraduate education and CPD sessions. Attend monthly psychiatry and directorate-wide training events. Research & Development: Opportunities for personal clinical research. Strong academic links with Cardiff University School of Medicine. Management & Leadership: Work with local management to ensure efficient service delivery. Contribute to strategic planning and policy implementation. Support workforce development and service improvement initiatives. Administrative Duties: Maintain high standards in documentation, infection control, and data protection. Attend departmental meetings and contribute to clinical governance.
