Job Description
Version 1 is expanding its network of clients and verticals. We have created a Commercial Director for Strategic Alliances role focused on growth-led business development initiatives across Version 1’s strategic technology partners and supporting the rapid growth of Version 1 in the UK.
As Commercial Director for Strategic Alliances, you will lead business development with our technology partners (Oracle, Microsoft, AWS, and others as the role evolves). Your role includes generating qualified opportunities for the Sales Team by identifying, engaging, nurturing, and converting prospects using your communication strategies and focus on Version 1 partnerships.
You will help deliver on our strategy to accelerate digital, data and cloud opportunities and develop growth through our technology partners, leading to a healthy pipeline and joint customer wins across Public & Private Sectors.
You should have a multi-faceted background including a strong understanding of the consulting business, selling IT services and consulting projects into public and enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand our Partners’ strategy and help build awareness initiatives around our capabilities to support differentiation, customer wins, and market success
- Build strong alliances between our technology partners and Version 1 to develop business plans that drive opportunity and revenue growth
- Drive partner pipeline and customer wins through focused sales plays, GTMs, and campaigns, delivering qualified opportunities to support Version 1 revenue targets
- Work with our practice teams to identify, develop, and launch value-add solutions/offerings showcasing Version 1 capabilities and Partner technologies
- Support Version 1's expansion in new geographies, verticals, and use cases by aligning with Partner teams and growth strategies
- Collaborate with Sales and Partner Marketing to develop targeted lead generation campaigns
- Drive CRM processes and maintain leads and data
- Propose creative ideas to generate new leads and opportunities for the Sales team
Qualifications
- Experience in proactive lead qualification, internal sales or service-oriented roles with strong sales orientation
- Degree (or equivalent) in Business or Marketing
- Strong customer service focus and understanding of technology partnership models; specific understanding/relationships with Microsoft and AWS is a clear advantage
- Working knowledge of Marketing and Sales best practices in lead qualifying and nurturing
- High level understanding of the Sales funnel
- Experience in managing and using a CRM
- Proven track record of success in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with ability to develop strong relationships with partners and team members
