Effectively coordinate the Quality and Environmental function by ensuring systems, processes and standards are not only maintained but also developed, implemented and improved. The role is based in our London office with regular visits to sites across the UK.

Overview

Role: Quality And Environmental Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating a robust Quality and Environmental Management System by supporting site and office teams to ensure compliance with the Company current Q&E policies and procedures
  • Formulating and managing the development and implementation of KPI's, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to Quality & Environmental systems, aligning with the Company’s Integrated Management System
  • Imbedding the Procore platform across the company by training to become a Super User and providing ongoing training to new and existing employees
  • Undertaking regular audits of the Q&E systems and procedures with site visits to ensure a consistent approach across all sites
  • Interfacing with external auditors for the maintenance and upgrading of ISO systems
  • Undertaking regular audits of the Procore system to ensure consistency across all sites
  • Developing strong relationships across the company to embed policies and requirements into day-to-day business
  • Maintaining consistency of Quality and Environmental standards across sites and offices by upskilling employees and promoting continuous improvement
  • Maintaining and improving ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications and identifying additional systems that would benefit the company
  • Ensuring Q&E procedures integrate with ISO 45001 Safety Management System through regular coordination with Company Safety Personnel
  • Researching and developing Quality Plans and Waste Management templates and providing upskilling to staff as needed
  • Carrying out site visits and inspection reports related to Environmental and Quality performance, and reporting to Senior Management
  • Monitoring the closeout of Q&E observations/nonconformance issues and defects in systems
  • Providing weekly progress reports and feedback to Senior Management
  • Supplying feedback and input on processes and KPI’s for PQQs and tender submissions when required
  • Document control for Environmental topics related to ongoing projects
  • Other ad hoc duties as required by the Company

You will need

  • A degree in Construction Engineering/Construction Management or similar
  • Good understanding of the lifecycle of a large construction project, ideally with a Main Contractor
  • Excellent IT skills with knowledge of construction engineering technology
  • Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated and approachable
  • Organised and able to prioritise
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • A genuine interest in and understanding of quality and environmental issues
  • Proven ability to provide support, guidance and training when needed
  • Strong evidence of delivering results
  • Hands-on, able to work in detail and also take a strategic overview
  • Willing to learn new techniques and take on additional projects
