About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Scientist, Non-Clinical PKPD to join the Early Clinical Development & Translational Sciences Department. You will play a key role in shaping the quantitative integrated strategy of pharmacokinetics and pharmacology (PKPD, systems modelling, clinical pharmacology/pharmacometrics) across the lifecycle of projects β€” from target identification through to life cycle management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the non-clinical PKPD strategy and support the design of study protocols, including GLP toxicokinetic studies.
  • Analyse, interpret, and report PKPD results in collaboration with internal teams (Non-Clinical Safety, Bioanalysis, Clinical Pharmacology) and CRO partners.
  • Deliver high-quality PKPD data packages that meet regulatory standards, including study reports and integrated summaries.
  • Communicate results effectively to diverse stakeholders and contribute to regulatory submission documents.
  • Advance drug candidates by developing deep knowledge of their pharmacology and PKPD profiles.
  • Represent the department internally and externally, contributing to UCB’s scientific reputation.

Skills & Experience

  • PhD/MSc/BSc in a relevant discipline (quantitative pharmacology, PK/PD, DMPK, etc.) with 5+ years’ hands-on PKPD analysis experience in pharma or CRO.
  • Strong understanding of disease and drug mechanisms, with proven experience in designing and executing non-clinical PKPD studies.
  • Proficiency in Phoenix WinNonlin (essential). Experience with tools such as Berkeley Madonna and/or R is advantageous.
  • Experience in GLP toxicokinetic analysis, data interpretation, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Track record of high-quality regulatory submissions; publications in PKPD are a plus.
