Industrial Disease Team Leader - Solicitor

Leading national law firm seeks an experienced Industrial Disease Supervisor to join the Birmingham team. The role focuses on managing a caseload of industrial disease matters, with a particular emphasis on noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) claims, from instruction through to resolution.

You will handle case strategy, evidence review, settlement negotiations, and any necessary procedural steps. You will also liaise with clients and third parties to deliver high-quality outcomes, on time and within service expectations. In addition, you will supervise and support a small team of fee earners, providing guidance on file strategy, monitoring performance against KPIs, and contributing to training and development. You will contribute to driving team efficiency and quality to ensure both individual and team targets are met.

The Candidate

• Experienced file handler with a background in industrial disease, ideally with a focus on NIHL claims
• Sound understanding of litigation processes, procedural requirements, and case strategy
• Confident in reviewing medical and engineering evidence and setting case direction
• Skilled negotiator with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Capable of managing a full caseload independently while meeting performance targets
• Proficient with case management systems and digital documentation
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Able to work collaboratively and adapt within a team setting
