Overview

The Chief Risk and Reporting Officer plays a pivotal role in enhancing risk management and reporting frameworks to safeguard assets and drive long-term value for Northern Ireland Water Limited and its subsidiaries (collectively known as 'NI Water' or 'the Group'). The role oversees the development of resilient business continuity strategies, ensures optimal risk transfer through insurance, and upholds high standards of corporate governance. In addition, the Chief Risk and Reporting Officer serves as a trusted advisor to both the Executive Committee and the Board, delivering strategic and corporate reporting with precision and insight. Through this work, the role fosters strong, collaborative relationships with key external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and expectations include advising the Executive Committee and Board on risk and reporting matters, developing and maintaining risk management and reporting frameworks, overseeing business continuity planning, and encouraging robust governance practices across the Group. The role also involves implementing effective risk transfer through insurance and delivering strategic corporate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Professional qualification : Applicants MUST demonstrate, in their application and at interview, that they:
    (a) have completed professional examinations and hold chartered status with one of the following bodies: Chartered Accountants Ireland; Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales; Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland; Association of Chartered Certified Accountants; Chartered Institute of Management Accountants; Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. AND (b) have at least five years of post-qualification experience in risk and reporting.
  2. Minimum of 5 years' experience at senior management level presenting to Executive Committee, Audit or Risk Committees on risk and reporting.
  3. Minimum of 5 years' experience at senior management level implementing best practice risk management and reporting.
  4. Minimum of 5 years' experience at senior management level managing teams and exercises with a broad range of diverse outputs across risk and reporting.

Senior management level refers to a role that is a direct report to an Executive Director or equivalent.
