Long Term Futures is working with a successful secondary school in Coventry (CV2) seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Design to join their team from January or April 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented teacher or subject leader to take the next step in their career, providing dynamic leadership within a supportive and forward-thinking school community.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Art and Design department to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons.
• Inspire creativity, innovation, and a love of learning among students.
• Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and resource management.
• Support and develop teaching staff to ensure excellent classroom practice.
• Work collaboratively with senior leaders to raise standards and promote achievement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong classroom experience within Art and Design.
• A proven track record of delivering outstanding results and raising achievement.
• Experience leading a team or mentoring colleagues within a department.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
• A creative, forward-thinking teacher who can inspire both students and staff.
