A thriving Top 100 Suffolk Employee-Owned Trust company is seeking a Finance Director to join our leadership team, which includes a Commercial Director and Managing Director. This opportunity arises due to the impending retirement of our current Finance Director, who has played a key role in our growth and success.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring robust financial controls and compliance.
• Drive strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Provide clear commercial insight to the Directors to aid decision-making to support business growth and profitability.
• Oversee financial reporting, cash flow management, and stakeholder relations.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to shape long-term business strategy.
• Lead the operational finance team, ensuring effective management and oversight at all levels.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and tax returns in compliance with UK regulations and standards.
• Lead the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process, involving all relevant budget holders.
• Manage the annual audit and preparation of monthly management accounts and board packs.
• Monitor cashflow, manage key banking relationships, and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and support growth initiatives.
• Management of a small finance team.
• Evaluate and approve new business project proposals and investments.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Proven experience undertaking the duties of a Finance Director.
• Proven leadership in financial strategy, planning, analysis, reporting and performance management.
• Strong understanding of P&L management and accounting principles.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and innovate within the finance team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting financial information to diverse audiences.
