Overview
A Vacancy at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust wishes to appoint a post CCT Complex Spine Fellow in Neurosurgery for a period of 12 months, starting in September 2023. This is a Royal College of Surgeons England approved fellowship program. The Senior Spinal Fellow will be expected to provide neurosurgical on call cover at registrar level on 1 in 8-12 full shift rota at the Hull Royal Infirmary site and be actively involved in research with an opportunity to register for a higher degree.
Responsibilities
- Expose the fellow to all aspects of spinal surgery (excluding paediatrics) including posterior, lateral and anterior approaches, intraoperative spinal neuromonitoring, spinal oncology and Minimally Invasive Techniques.
- Work within a unit with 6 dedicated consultant complex spinal surgeons from both Orthopaedic and Spinal Orthopaedic backgrounds, plus 6 other consultant neurosurgeons with various subspeciality interests.
- Provide on-call neurosurgical cover at registrar level on a 1 in 8-12 full shift rota (Hull Royal Infirmary site).
- Engage in research activity with an opportunity to register for a higher degree.
- Contribute to elective degenerative spinal work alongside other consultants.
