One Place is a cloud-based home management platform with a difference. We’re an early‑stage start‑up assembling a founding team ahead of raising investment.

We’re looking for a Founding Legal Advisor to guide us through the legal and regulatory aspects of building and scaling a SaaS platform.

This role involves advising on data privacy, security, and partnership structures in both the UK and US contexts. Initially, the time commitment will be minimal—focused on strategic legal input and document review—but as we progress toward funding, the role can evolve into a fractional or full‑time position with salary and continued equity.

You’ll be a core member of the founding team, contributing to early investor discussions and ensuring our business is legally sound from the start.

Responsibilities

• Advise on data privacy, data sharing, and security compliance across UK and US jurisdictions
• Support the development of terms of service, privacy policies, and user agreements
• Help design partnership agreements and define structures for data collaboration between businesses
• Advise on corporate governance, share structures, and early‑stage funding legalities
• Provide input on IP protection and technology ownership
• Review contracts and documentation to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
• Offer ongoing legal insight as we approach investment and growth stages

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor or experienced legal advisor (UK‑based)
• Proven experience in data protection (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and commercial contracts
• Familiarity with SaaS business models and data‑sharing frameworks
• Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in early‑stage, fast‑evolving environments
• Ability to work remotely, with occasional travel to London (around once a month)
