About the role
Brunel University London’s Student Welfare Team is searching for an empathetic, proactive, and dedicated professional to join our dynamic team within the Student Support Services department.
The Student Welfare Officer will act as a case holder, offering confidential advice and guidance on personal wellbeing, finances, and university regulations. The role provides a holistic and efficient first-point-of-contact support service, minimizing the impact of personal challenges on a student’s academic journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct face-to-face and online sessions to advise students and families.
- Handle individual student cases from start to finish, making independent decisions and referring to specialist services when necessary.
- Work closely with university departments and external agencies to ensure a coordinated support network.
- Lead projects and provide wellbeing activities to foster student resilience.
Qualifications
• Degree (or equivalent) and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience handling sensitive information and situations.
