Overview
We are looking for our new Head of Nursing for Breast Services to join our team.
If successful you will work across three outpatient services, and drive the delivery of a high quality breast screening service across Essex (South Essex and the Chelmsford/Colchester screening services).
Please note this role may close due to number of applications.
If successful, you will be based at Broomfield Hospital but travel and support all three local hospital site teams.
You will be responsible and accountable for the daily nursing teams delivery of high quality breast services in the out patient department.
As an autonomous clinical nurse specialist you will run high risk clinics to support the delivery of our service.
As part of the Breast Service leadership team you will represent the service across the MSE and be an excellent clinical role model, deputising for the Associate Director of Nursing as necessary.
To take part in the trust-wide on call Rota, major incident, and capacity escalation.

Responsibilities
- Drive the delivery of a high quality breast screening service across Essex (South Essex and the Chelmsford/Colchester screening services) across three outpatient services.
- Act as a professional resource and adviser, providing support and guidance on all matters concerning patients including the protection of the vulnerable; ensure developments within services meet national, local, and organisational priorities related to service modernisation, service delivery, clinical governance and leadership; ensure statutory procedures are managed and delivered.
- Based at Broomfield Hospital with travel to and support for all three local hospital site teams.
- Be responsible and accountable for the daily nursing teams delivery of high quality breast services in the outpatient department.
- As an autonomous clinical nurse specialist, run high risk clinics to support service delivery.
- Represent the service across the MSE as part of the Breast Service leadership team and act as a clinical role model, deputising for the Associate Director of Nursing as necessary.
- Participate in the trust-wide on call rota, major incident, and capacity escalation as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Breast Nurse Practitioner with capability to develop, run and work autonomously in clinics with Breast/Oncology/Plastics experience (as stated).
- Leadership experience in nursing and ability to work across multiple sites.
- Strong clinical governance, service delivery and professional development focus.
