Overview

Responsibilities
- Oversee commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors, maximising budget returns and demonstrating value for money.
- Set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice, develop long‑term collaborative partnership arrangements, and deliver for both the Agency and society.
- Champion effective governance and commercial assurance across Integrated Delivery Management teams, becoming an expert on contractual and commercial interpretations within a high‑performing team.
- Cultivate excellent internal and external relationships, developing expertise in contractual and commercial interpretations.
- Participate in incident response duties, supporting communities and preventing harm to the environment.
Qualifications
- A‑Level qualifications, Level 3 qualifications or equivalent.
- Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Stakeholder management experience.
- Strong data and document management skills.
- Commercial acumen – the ability to understand and analyse business situations, take proportionate risks, make informed decisions and deliver the most advantageous solution.
- Administration skills – strong organisation, ability to draft minutes and reports.
- Willingness to undertake long‑term professional qualifications (e.g., NEC training, CIPS) and ask questions to drive development.
- Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience (desired).
- Working towards status with a recognised professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, or RICS (desired).
- Formal training in contract management (e.g., NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme) (desired).
