Title
School Bursarial and Resources Strategic Lead
Overview
Lead and manage a sustainable, innovative, evolving School Bursarial Service, comprised of dedicated experienced education finance specialists, providing a client focused traded service that delivers strategic, operational and complex financial management advice, support and training to a large number of local authority maintained schools across the borough.
Responsibilities
- Maintain frontload a case load of schools, delivering strategic, operational and complex financial management advice, support and training to school staff at all levels.
- Manage and support with projects related to financial and resource management, including to deliver training programmes and develop the use of software solutions for effective budget monitoring and management.
- Play a major role in supporting school financial sustainability, including supporting schools to set sustainable budgets, monitoring and risk management for school leaders and governors across all Local Authority maintained schools in Ealing and deficit recovery planning.
- Play a pivotal role in the planning, co-ordination and strategic development of the Dedicated Schools Grant for schools, High Needs and Early Years, both devolved to schools and centrally retained. This will include budget modelling, forecasting, making finance recommendations and communicating key changes to senior management and schools.
- Work with the head of service and Assistant Director on schools forum reporting, relationship management and decision making.
- Collaborate, work in partnership with and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including schools, internal services and departments, other LA's, education professionals and central government.
Qualifications
- Dynamic, experienced professional with a strong background in financial management.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proven experience of leading teams and delivering successful projects.
- The ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Location
We try to go to the office at Ealing Headquarters at least twice a week, and some of our work is done in the schools and communities of the borough of Ealing.
