Overview
Job Title: Digital Senior Communications Officer
Location: Shire Hall, Block 3, 2nd Floor, Gloucestershire
Salary: £37,280 - £40,777 per annum; Hours per Week: 37.00; Contract Type: Permanent; Closing Date: 04/11/2025
This is a Gloucestershire County Council job. Hybrid working is available with 2 days a week in the Shire Hall office in Gloucester. The post may require travel across the county to capture photographs and video of events, people and places. A driver’s license and access to a car would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality, engaging video, photography and digital content and manage a range of web and digital platforms.
- Create, schedule and manage social media posts and use analytics to monitor campaign performance.
- Take and direct photography and video content, and edit and produce engaging material that communicates messages clearly and effectively, often under tight deadlines.
- Write and publish content for websites and intranet sites. Create and manage email campaigns and newsletters; understand the latest accessibility guidance.
Qualifications
- Experience in digital communications with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, creative, and able to thrive under pressure with the ability to balance conflicting priorities.
- Experience in analytics for monitoring campaign success.
- Experience in writing, publishing content for websites and intranet sites; capable of producing photography and video content and editing.
- Ability to manage email campaigns and newsletters and knowledge of accessibility guidelines.

- Right to work and sponsorship: The council is not currently able to offer sponsorship in this role. Candidates will need to have the right to work that enables them to commit to at least 6 months of employment. Right to work is not transferable from a sponsored role held with another employer.
