Shift Lead - Food - Belfast Upper Road Simply Food
Join our team at M&S as a Shift Lead in our Foods section. You’ll champion high-quality products, great value offers and excellent customer service. We’re seeking passionate individuals who take pride in their knowledge of M&S Food products and are excited to share it with customers.
You’ll be a brand ambassador ready to recommend our newest Food products. Through remarkable service you’ll ensure customers feel valued every time they shop with us.
Work pattern and pay
Saturday 15:00 - 23:00
Please note that the + ÂŁ3.00 p/h unsocial premium is only added on any hours worked between 22:00-06:00.
Eligibility

Responsibilities
- Duty Manager in the absence of the next level Leader when required
- Champion new ways of working within stores through an open mindset and positive attitude
- Lead colleagues in delivery of tasks prioritising the customer first
- Plan, allocate and follow through on delivery of tasks to a consistent standard across the store
- Drive on-the-job productivity
- Support colleagues through coaching and feedback
- Use MI to take action to drive performance
- Help maintain a safe and legal environment for colleagues and customers
- Support the delivery of an inspirational, improved and consistent visual customer journey in-store
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver great standards and service by putting the customer first
- Act on customer feedback to drive improvement
- Ensure the delivery of brilliant basics
- Coach the team to deliver excellent standards of product presentation
- Support the delivery of Plan A
- Provide regular and timely feedback to line manager to support performance
- Support training and coaching of colleagues, maximising digital tools and channels
- Identify colleagues for recognition and celebrate success within the store
- Provide feedback to BIG to improve colleague experience
- Support the Team Manager with store selling and cost targets using MI to identify opportunities
- Model new ways of working through digital tools
- Allocate resources efficiently to deliver processes and services
- Maintain a safe and legal store environment
- Support visual merchandising updates across launches, events and campaigns

- Knowledge of legal requirements for customer assistant and duty management
- Attention to detail and timely delivery, right first time
