🚀 Lecturer in Science (Maternity Cover)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Science team for a full time Lecturer on a fixed term basis until January 2027.

We are looking for a passionate person to join our forward-thinking team, teaching on our Science courses ranging from BTEC Level 2 to Level 3. There may also be opportunities to deliver on our Extended Science Degree. Our FE provision includes Applied Science, Forensic Science and Psychology/Criminal Investigation courses. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, strong team within a department where everyone is expected to maintain their current high levels of performance.

Responsibilities

Teach on our Science courses (BTEC Level 2 to Level 3) and potentially on the Extended Science Degree. Promote, support and embed English and Maths skills within planning and delivery of all teaching. Provide prompt, detailed assessment of student work and experience of personal tutoring including target setting. You will be part of a team that maintains high performance and contributes to Curriculum development.

Qualifications and Skills

Teaching experience and a broad science knowledge are desirable. We are keen to hear from anyone with the right skills, in particular those with a Physics and Chemistry background. A commitment to a supportive culture and excellent CPD opportunities is expected.

Contract and Terms

This role is full time, working 37 hours per week at our Watford campus. This is a fixed term, maternity cover role until January 2027. The closing date for applications is Friday 31st October 2025. The successful candidate will join our team from January 2026.
