🚀 Group Careers and Progression Advisor

Overview

West Herts College Group has an exciting opportunity for two Careers and Progression Advisors to join our dynamic GAP team. We have full-time and term-time only opportunities available. We have one role based at our Watford and Hemel Hempstead Campuses, and the second role based at our Barnfield Campus in Luton.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, student-focused individual who is passionate about guiding learners towards their future goals. If you are someone who is resilient and able to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders with a commitment to maintaining a student focused provision, then we welcome your application.

Responsibilities

• You will play a vital role in helping students make informed decisions about their next steps, whether that’s university, apprenticeships, employment, or further training.
• Deliver engaging group sessions on topics like CV writing and the UCAS process.
• Provide one-to-one careers guidance to ensure every student has access to high-quality, impartial support tailored to their individual needs.

Qualifications

• The successful candidates should hold, be working towards, or be willing to work towards a recognised qualification in careers guidance (e.g. Level 3 or 4 in Careers Guidance and Development or equivalent).
• Experience of working with young people in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of careers education frameworks such as the Gatsby Benchmarks or Matrix Standard would be highly advantageous.

Schedule

These roles will be 37 hours per week.

Key Dates

• The closing date for applications is Friday 31st October 2025.
• The successful candidates will join our team from January 2026.
