Position Overview:

The Strategic Demand Planning Manager leads the development and execution of forward-looking demand forecasts by synthesizing commercial insights, market intelligence, and cross-functional collaboration. This role operates as a key strategic advisor to commercial leadership, driving proactive demand planning decisions that shape business performance and resource allocation.


Key Responsibilities:


Demand Forecasting & Planning

  • Lead the implementation, optimization, and governance of demand forecasting tools and methodologies.
  • Establish forecasting standards and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy and agility.
  • Own demand planning’s role in the annual strategic planning process and S&OP cycles.


Pipeline Analysis & Business Alignment

  • Oversee the strategic evaluation of the opportunity pipeline against Order Intake Business Plan (OI BP) assumptions—evaluate win rate, opportunity turns, and total pipeline value.
  • Proactively identify gaps or risks in the pipeline that may affect business unit goals and raise early alerts for mitigation.
  • Provide executive-level insights and scenario modeling to support annual operating plans and monthly operating reviews.


Commercial Audit & Health Checks

  • Lead monthly “Health of the Pipeline” reviews using a 30,000-ft view analysis across sites or product lines to project commercial performance.
  • Conduct regular audits of commercial standard operating procedures (SOPs), collaborating with selling teams to align targets with forecasted demand and future capacity needs.
  • Define performance metrics and accountability frameworks to ensure commercial alignment with forecasted demand.
  • Define and enforce best practices for data integrity, planning cadence, and commercial inputs.


Market Intelligence & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Direct the integration of market intelligence and customer insights into strategic demand planning models.
  • Ensure new product forecasts reflect customer interest, launch timing, and promotional plans.
  • Lead cross-functional planning initiatives and represent demand planning in enterprise-wide transformation projects.


Salesforce Data Analytics & Pipeline Accuracy

  • Drive CRM data governance processes to ensure the integrity of strategic opportunity assessments.
  • Own the accuracy of Salesforce opportunity data, with monthly reviews of high- and medium-probability deals—validate key fields such as close date, purchase motivation, and stage progression.


Business Reporting & Communication

  • Develop and deliver executive-level reporting packages with clear narratives, risk assessments, and strategic action plans.
  • Facilitate monthly pipeline review meetings, providing clear, actionable insights that align commercial execution with strategic objectives.


Requirements & Core Competencies:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, commercial strategy, or sales operations.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), forecasting software, and Excel-based models.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and present insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Highly organized, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven leadership in implementing planning processes or systems.
  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or healthcare technology industry.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
