The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Boston Childrens Hospital is a 22-bed facility dedicated to the care of children with a wide range of critical illness diagnoses including respiratory failure (severe breathing problems), sepsis (serious infection), nutritional failure, poisoning, congenital anomalies, and life-threatening complications of metabolic diseases and endocrine disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Caring for patients with respiratory insufficiency and/or failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, asthma, heart failure, sepsis, metabolic crisis, and those experiencing medically fragile/technology dependent co-morbidities.
- Providing care to medical patients with life-threatening and/or potentially life threatening conditions across the age continuum.
- Working in a collaborative environment with opportunities for both learning and career growth.
- Practicing family centered care in an ICU environment.
- 40 hours/week, rotating days/nights and every third weekend.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
BSN required
Experience :
- A minimum of 1 year pediatric experience, ICU preferred.
- Adult ICU or equivalent experience with mechanically ventilated patients strongly considered.
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required.
- Massachusetts RN Licensure
- This position is eligible for a $10,000.00 sign-on bonus (not eligible for internal candidates and not eligible for former BCH employees who worked here in the past 2 years).
The posted pay range is Boston Childrens reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
