Why does the job exist?  
Juvenile Probation Officers are responsible for the supervision and performance monitoring of adjudicated misdemeanor and felony offenders in the community on behalf of the Courts and Supervised Release Panel. 
How does it get done?  
This position will screen, assess and staff to make appropriate recommendations on all referrals and complaints on clients. They will attend court hearing and make recommendations. Position provides supervision of juveniles by conducting home, school, and office visits to ensure compliance with court ordered probation and supervised release requirements. Maintain clients master file and enter data into Family Automated Client Tracking System (FACTS). JPO will collaborate with community resources, such as law enforcement agencies, school and service providers 
Who are the customers?  
Juvenile Probation Officer's are responsible for the supervision and performance monitoring of adjudicated misdemeanor and felony offenders in the community on behalf of the Courts and the Supervised Release Panel. In addition, this job services clients and their families by assisting in finding and providing referrals for resources in the community. 
Ideal Candidate  
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in sociology, psychology, corrections, guidance and counseling, social work, police science, criminal justice, juvenile justice, education, public administration, or closely related field. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is preformed in an office setting, client's homes, and institutions. Late hours, weekend, and call back work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal, keyboard usage, and stressful situation. Some travel may be required. The following condition are also applicable:
